Metro Chic Giveaway only 5 days left!

Hey Ya’ll! I feel as though it’s appropriate for me to say that because I am writing you from the big ‘ole state of Texas right now. Yep, I’m in San Antonio hanging out by the RiverwalkÂ for a work conference. Anyone know of any cool beauty stores near here? I have already been informed of a Trade Secret in the mall, so of course I will be going there tomorrow to see if they have anything the Bay Area doesn’t have (I hope, I hope!).Â

In the meanwhile I am highly annoyed about my polish at the moment. I got my OPI holiday colors (swatches coming late next week) and put on Brand New Skates last night at 9:00 pm. By 1:00 pm today a huge chunk was missing on my pointer finger already! And the rest have lots of tip wear! What I did for this as an experiement, which clearly didn’t work, was: 1 coat of CND Stickey, 3 coats polish, 1 coat CND Stickey then a coat of Poshe. I always heard a “Stickey sandwich” worked really well for people. But maybe it’s too thick so it peeled right off. I don’t know. Has anyone had this happen before and if so, what are your recommendations?

Butter LONDON supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Butter LONDON is helping to support breast cancer awareness for the entire month of October by donating 100% of the proceeds from two of their products to breast cancer research. The products are the nail lacquer Pink Ribbon and their Mango Peach Hand & Nail Creme. I have not tried either of these products, but can say the ones I have tried I really like and this is for a great cause. This is a subject that I am very aware of on a daily basis because I work for a large Biotechnology company that makes the breast cancer drug Herceptin, so I feel strongly about supporting companies who do all they can to help out. October means…Halloween Nails!

It’s finally October, which means I can show you my cute Halloween swatches! If you read my “teaser” postÂ hereÂ then you would know how much I love Halloween! I am featuring Wet n Wild’s Fantasy Makers colors in Black Pearl and Black Magic. I am also featuring some other unmarked polishes that were right next to the Wet n Wild ones in a rose shaped bottle (they could be Wet n Wild but am having problems confirming this). My hubbie discovered these yesterday in the Halloween aisle at Walgreen’s and got them for me (isn’t he nice?). Really the bottle itself is the best part, but the red actually turned out to be a pretty color. Anyhoo my reviews are below each picture, as usual. Happy Hauntings!

Black Pearl – Indoor

I was actually quite surprised at the opaqueness of this black. I could have almost gotten away with 1 coat but used 2. This is a nice smooth shiny jet black creme and for a buck, who can complain?

Chanel Kaleidoscope Swatches

I came home today from another long day of work with not much to look forward to except making dinner, watching The Rachel Zoe Project and Privileged and going to bed. But much to my surprise, my hubbie had a wonderful little delight for me! Yes you guessed it, Chanel Kaleidoscope! I was quite happy since I haven’t seen it yet in person, but did have a lemming for it since I saw the review on the All Lacquered UpÂ site. So I had to rush to swatch it since the sun was going down and I only had a tiny patch left in the backyard. Enjoy!
