Poll Results & New Contest! Anyone want to win Metro Chic?

Hello readers! Last week I posted a poll asking you what you thought the color that best defines 2008 is (so far of course). 37 people responded and here are the results:

9 people voted for OPI in Yoga-ta Get This Blue!
1 person voted for Rescue Beauty Lounge in Teal
3 people voted for China Glaze in Emerald Sparkle
11 people voted for Sephora for OPI’s Metro Chic
4 people voted for Rescue Beauty Lounge in Concrete Jungle
2 people voted for Misa in Toxic Seduction
1 person voted for Deborah Lippmann in Pump Up the Jam
6 “others” were:
1 for Chanel Blue Satin
1 for Man Glaze in The Death Tar
1 for China Glaze in Wagon Trail
1 for OPI in You Don’t Know Jacques
2 with no comment
The highest vote turned out to be Metro Chic and becuse it was the poll winner, I have decided to have a contest and give away 1 full sized bottle of Metro Chic to one lucky person! Please see details below. This contest starts now and will run through October 10th. Good luck!

The Monday Blues featuring China Glaze Shower Together

This Monday I decided to feature a recent discovery of mine, although not a new color. It’s China Glaze’s Shower Together and I think it’s the bee’s knees (ewww did I just say that?). This color makes me happy. It’s such a nice bright peacock blue creme there is really nothing not to like. The formula was really nice and even and it only took 2 coats to get it to bottle color. Monday bliss!

China Glaze – Bahama Blues Swatches

I can finally now bring you my China Glaze Bahama Blues swatches now also! This highly annoyed me actually because I ordered these about 10 days before I received them from Head2Toe Beauty and just got them on Thursday. Sorry they are so late! I actually was surprised because I liked every single one, although some better than others. These are arranged here by lightest to darkest.

Wow this was really chalky and opaque. It took 2 coats but could have been 1 thick one. It’s a really pretty light robin’s blue creme color. The formula was smooth even though it was thick. It is similar to CG’s For Audrey, but this has less green in it.

China Glaze – Operation Colour Swatches

Today I finally swatched the colors I ordered from the China Glaze Operation Colour collection. I only got four of them which are: Golden Opportunity, Code Orange, Agent Lavender and Secret Peri-Winkle. All of them had really nice smooth applications (though Agent Lavender was the thickest of the bunch) and all were 2 coats with the exception of Secret Peri-Winkle, which was 3 coats. My reviews are below the pics and are in order from my least favorite to most favorite. Enjoy!

It’s not that I didn’t like this color, I did. In the bottle. On my skin it was truly horrific! I hated it so much it was all I could do not to immediately take it off! Normally yellow and me do not mix, so I wasn’t too surprised since this is a very warm yellow. The color is so pretty though, it’s a golden yellow with lots of shimmer. I am bummed I can’t even wear it on my toes, but I’m glad I at least tried it out!

China Glaze Bahama Blues Swatches Coming Soon (and more!)

Happy Friday! This is just a quick post to tell you I will be bringing you a bunch of random swatches tomorrow. I finally received my China Glaze Bahama Blues! I ordered them like 10 days ago and they JUST got here yesterday, I don’t know what’s up with that. Most other nail bloggers got theirs way before me. I guess it’s the East Coast/West Coast thing. Anyway, I also got some other random polishes from China Glaze, Misa & Orly so tomorrow will be a busy day for me. Stay tuned! In the meanwhile here is a silly pic of my tips adorned with some of my cubicle friends.
